It starts with a conversation

Be clear about what it is you want to know, gather together any information you already have…..and then let’s talk!

Scoping your project

Every project is unique, so the first step is a conversation where we explore what you already know about your family and what you hope to achieve. Together, we will agree on a scope for your project, and I will prepare a proposal and quote. The proposal will include an estimate of research time and an allowance for the purchase of any certificates that may be required.

The work begins once you have agreed to the proposal and paid an agreed deposit.

Doing the research

There is never a guarantee of success in family history research.

I will keep you regularly updated on progress. If, after an agreed time, it appears that the records needed to complete the project and meet your expectations are unavailable, I will contact you to discuss options for proceeding.

Investment

I charge $60 per hour (plus GST) for actual time spent on any project. Any additional costs, such as certificates (if required), are charged separately. As each project is unique, costs will vary depending on the project's complexity.
